Mercy Watson to the Rescue
by Kate DiCamillo
Illustrated by Chris Van Dusen
I think the pig is really funny. She really likes toast with a great deal of butter on it. I do too. Eugenia doesn't like Mercy the pig. Baby likes Mercy the pig. Mercy is afraid of the dark like me and when her parents sing her a song and turn the lights off her room becomes scary and dark. So she goes to snuggle with her parents, who are people not pigs. I think they adopted Mercy. And then when she snuggles into her parents bed, her dad is dreaming of flying a plane, Mercy's Mom was dreaming of making Mercy toast. Mercy was dreaming of eating that toast. For real, she wanted some. They are sleep acting. And when they're ending their dreams there is a big boom crash boom crash...This is when Mercy Watson comes to the rescue. You'll have to read the story to find out how it ends.

Helen Keller
By David A. Adler Illustrated by John Wallner
This book is a true story and at the end I was sad because she really died on June 1, 1968. Helen Keller understands people by spelling into her hand. She couldn't see and hear. The most important day in all her life was when she met her teacher Anne Sullivan. The boy who invented the telephone helped her find her teacher. People all over the world, even the president, honoured her experience.

Miranda the Castaway
by James Mayhew
Miranda is a very smart girl because her brain works good when there are no grown-ups. She is all alone on an island. She does a very good job of building herself a home. She builds a bedroom, a kitchen, a bathroom and a toilet. She makes a pipe that brings fresh water from the waterfall into her house. It made me imagine being on an island and what I would do.

Clarice Bean That's Me
By Lauren Child
I'm really curious about how the drawn pictures will sometimes include real photos. I'm very liking how they draw everything it's really cool. How nice they draw those hands...wow... I don't even know how to draw hands like those. So I like the art. The story is a little confusing (this is not one of Lauren Childs best books) I really like the page about Clarice and her sister Marcie, that was funny. Marcie has cool posters on her wall and you can read what they are thinking.

Berenstain Bears Get Into A Fight
I like this book because there is a picture I really love in that book. There are three pictures of sister bear getting ready in the morning - I just like seeing her do that. I can even remember almost all the words to this book in my head. I think it's very funny when they fight.
